Dutton/Dunwich council is vetting bylaws to regulate wind turbines in the municipality
Several bylaws drafted by Dutton/Dunwich to counter the anticipated impact of industrial wind turbines have been referred to legal counsel for review before final adoption.
Council voted Wednesday for two readings only on bylaws designed to limit light flicker and noise generated by turbines.
One bylaw seeks to regulate noise from industrial wind turbines. The other is aimed at controlling shadow light flicker from a turbine.
The preamble to the bylaw defines it as: “Being a bylaw to prohibit shadow flicker from any source including, but not limited to, industrial wind turbines …”
Coun. Dan McKillop said the municipality should get clarification on certain points before it proceeds with final adoption and implementation of the bylaws.
McKillop suggested it would be better to spend the time having the bylaws reviewed to make sure Dutton/Dunwich is in sound legal position before they are passed into law.
First and second reading of the bylaws was passed unanimously on recorded votes for each.
One other building bylaw regulating permits and fees for construction of buildings, etc, specifically stated issuance of permits also applied to industrial wind turbines. That clause should be referred to legal counsel for review, McKillop pointed out.
Both light flicker and noise have been targetted as potential byproducts of industrial wind turbine operation.
Invenergy has aplied to erect wind turbines in Dutton/Duwnich and is awaiting approval.
Ontario’s Green Energy Act limits what steps municipalities can take to control wind turbines.

Just as important, do not forget about the noise you can’t hear-infrasound that is emitted from the wind turbines. It is deadly. Low frequency waves can penetrate the body causing permanent tissue and bone damage…and death.
The sensitivity to infrasound builds up over time. That is why some people can visit an area where there are turbines, and not immediately feel the effects.
While in the vicinity of wind turbines, where my home is; I become lethargic, I vomit profusely, develop diarrhea, and bleeding. When I leave the area, these side effects clear up. However, the damage to you body is there. Once you have been exposed to LFN, it is with you for life.
My home, surrounded by industrial wind turbines sits empty. I continue to pay the mortgage on it while struggling to pay rent for where I currently reside. I have been living with this for 7 years. The government in Ontario continues to turn a blind eye.
I am a high school teacher, currently off work on medical leave. My bones are frail, I monitor my blood pressure on a regular basis, I have a brain anneurism which was detected when I had a transient ischemic attack, and I have shingles on my face which developed a year and a half ago. Hearing is impaired, I cannot ear properly-tmj has developed in my jaw. Mentally-I am weak.
Neighbors in tge clear creek are where my house is, who did not leave their homes have died from heart attack, diabetes, cancer, suicide. Two others have developed dementia and have moved into care homes. Another neighbor, currently residing in my area is experiencing a disinitegration of her veins and arteries?!??
This is a rural community. A high percentage of residents are sick or have died.
Negative effects from industrial wind turbines are much more than the annoyance from the sound, the appearance, the shadow flicker. More seriously, are the deadly health effects caused by exposure to infrasound. The low frequency waves can travel for miles. Industrial wind turbines do not belong near communities.
Set backs were established based on accommodating the siting of turbines; note-if the set back was any further than what it is, many of the turbines currently existing are smack dab center of the distance between rural concessions.
Turbines are not “green” at all. The interest in developing this industry is found in the huge government subsidies available to wind farm developers, some of these people being government officials! Follow the money, you will see. Economically-the wind doesn’t blow when we need it, therefore back up systems are required. On the other hand, when we have excess electricity, we pay Americans to take it!
Here in Ontario we now have a multi billion $ provincial deficit. Our hydro bills will continue to soar.
I have touched on many aspects concerning industrial wind turbines. You do not want shadow flicker, or audible noise, or the deadly noise-low frequency that you cannot hear. You do not want industrial wind turbines period.

I feel for you. I really do. This province and now this country are riding a moral spiral to oblivion. Apparently the vast majority of Canadians don’t realize that or just plain don’t care. I’ve stood close to these monster turbines out in Alberta and the whoosh and vibration were enough to tell me the truth about them.
We have human greed at its finest in Ontario plus the destruction of health and way of life for so many of us. Please do not give up the fight. Its a fight for life.

I hope that ALL victims will start sending letters to our new Prime Minister and his advisor Gerald Butts. Apparently neither of them have a clue that industrial wind turbines are problematic.

before being hired by Trudeau when he became party leader. They have been close friends since they were at university – Butts is Trudeau’s closest

Ms. Wynne is a female clone of Dalton McGuinty. Hopefully our new Prime Minister will be smart enough, and has the morals and ethics not to join the ranks of the skum, the current cartel of Wynne al al. What them have done is criminal and unethical.
Please do not let money be your guiding light; but the health and well being to be of prime importance. Do something about the Green Energy Act. Make history as the best Prime Minister Canada has seen for some time. You can do it. Kathleen Wynne is a pathetic role model. Do not look to her as a mentor. Her closets are full as is Dalton’s. It’s time our government was on board, exhibiting a high standard of ethics and “transparency” ha, as they have claimed to be in the past but were not. Keep a tidy house Mr. Trudeau and you will leave a legacy your family and Canadians will be proud of. Do It! And congratulations.
