Ever since the turbines starting spinning in the Haldimand-Norfolk communities of Cultus-Clear Creek-Frogmore, people have experienced adverse health effects from the noise and infrasound/sound pressure produced by the turbines. Some people live with as many as a dozen or more turbines within a few kilometers.
In 2009, more than 70 residents signed a petition, with the claims that they had personally been affected by the turbines erected by AIM PowerGen (CEO Mike Crawley, later CEO of GDF Suez, and president of both the Ontario Liberal Party and the Liberal Party of Canada).
In 2014, residents asked the local Medical Officer of Health Dr Malcolm Lock, whether he had investigated the possibility of a health hazard as he is mandated to do under the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
In a letter delivered to a resident by post, Dr Lock claims to have”investigated” and found “no significant environmental issues.” He referred to correspondence from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, and to the report from the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Ontario, which was published in 2010 but prepared in 2009, five years ago.
The report from the Chief Medical Officer of Health looked only at direct pathways for the cause of adverse health effects and did not investigate indirect paths. It also noted that there was a gap in information and recommended that further research be done.

A study in Australia found that in areas where there was no publication of ill effects from wind turbines these mysterious illnesses did not appear. They only were found in areas where these illnesses were advertised.
That is not to say people do not suffer from ill effects only that it is a kind of reverse placebo.

That was the infamous “nocebo” effect put forward by Simon Chapman. It is insulting and not founded, and Mr Chapman has accepted money from the wind industry to appear as a witness on their behalf. Not credible. Please see Parker Gallant’s current series on the research behind the wind industry’s campaign to portray anyone opposed to utility-scale wind power development as “backwards” and “out of touch”.

I did better than read a biased account on wind energy I looked up mr chapman and found that in fact he is very credible. He is a consumer advocate. If he can’t find the connection is it really there? Then I decided I would read his report to see how credible it sounded to me. What I found is that is similar studies since then people have come up with the same findings. Invariably the people stretching the truth are the wind farm advocates who leave out pertinent data when trying to make their case.
Again, I am not saying these people do not suffer just as people do get better taking placebos.
Just because someone takes money to deliver a report does not mean their report was wrong. Why would he fly across many time zones to deliver his evidence for free when someone asks? Maybe he has a life and needs or wants money for his efforts.

There have been more than a few families forced to abandon their homes after becoming ill from being surrounded by wind turbines.
How many placebos would it take to prevent these people from pissing away most of their life savings?
Talk is cheap, especially from those that shed crocodile tears.

For the people who haven’t experienced it for themselves, maybe the following report from a Ministry of the Environment field officer (with a badge), circa 2010, will help put things into perspective. It was recorded as part of an official MOE investigation at the Clear Creek/Cultus/Frogmore IWT Zone in Norfolk County, Ontario. The MOE field officer was only visiting, and was not attempting to “live” there.
One should consider what it would be like trying to live at a home where there is a “sensation”, “more felt than heard.” What is the sensation? It’s obvious, I think, how this “sensation” could be very discomforting, and even painful, and obviously disrupt sleep and cause sleep deprivation. The ‘negative health effects’ compound into an emergency where the official public response was to deny, denigrate and ridicule the victims.
It’s unbelievable, in my opinion, that these facts could still be ignored.

Yesterday at 12:30 noon I felt very strong vibrations with very little noise at the back of the property being generated from the turbine just north of the house. Wind condition was S 9km/h as per Weather Network, so N or NE are not the only conditions for the vibrations. I will try and pay special attention to this when I am at Clear Creek.

I would describe it as a sensation that was neither a discernable sound nor a detectable vibration, but somewhere between the two. Definitely more felt than heard. If I concentrated very hard, I could sense something below the hearing threshold, but above what can be felt as a vibration. I have to say, though, that it takes an unusual amount of concentration to even notice it.
