Dr Robert McMurtry on the Health Canada study: “lousy”

Dr Robert McMurtry was interviewed by consumer advocate Dale Goldhawk on Zoomer radio yesterday. In uncharacteristically blunt speech, he branded the Health Canada wind turbine noise study (for which only a summary exists, not a full report) “lousy” and a piece of “crap.”
He said the study is now being used by the Province of Ontario to justify its unfounded wind power program, and by industry to accelerate its invasion of rural communities.
Dr McMurtry is the former dean of Medicine at Western University, and has held an executive position at Health Canada.

Dr. McMurtry is bang on – the Health Canada report is so misleading and un-scientific. Not even a real report – but the mis-perceptions that this causes with the general public is the real crime here. And why was this released to the wind corps before the Canadian public? Just gross.

The schedule used to release this was unbelievable and very rushed: Statistics Canada announced at 0830 that the summary would be up on the Health Canada website at 0915…it wasn’t. It wasn’t released until minutes before a news conference held by Health Canada, which itself was so rushed the media barely had time to get there. But, with not much time to go, and NO time to look carefully at the summary, the media went with the black and white” no health effects message. Which is false. Why the rush? Why the summary based on nothing?
