No more wind power contracts: Dutton-Dunwich Council to Wynne government

Got the message, Invenergy and Ontario? No means NO.
Got the message, Invenergy and Ontario? No means NO.

Dutton Dunwich, Ontario, January 14, 2016—
Dutton Dunwich Council passed a resolution at its regular meeting January 13, requesting that the Ontario government not sign any new contracts for wind power, and that it “not proceed with any related projects within our Municipality.”
Invenergy submitted a bid for a power project in the municipality during the 2015 bid process for Large Renewable Procurement (LRP). Eighty-four percent of residents in the area said NO to the wind power project when  the municipality conducted a survey last year.
Dutton Dunwich is also officially an unwilling host community to wind power projects.
Concerns noted in the resolution were the danger to wildlife from the industrial-scale wind turbines, the fact that Ontario has a surplus of power, and that the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation also do not support the power project.
“DDOWT  [Dutton/Dunwich Opposed to Wind Turbines*] is very pleased that our local Dutton Dunwich Council has passed this resolution,” said Bonnie Rowe, chair of the community group. “Our civic leaders continue to stress to Provincial government bodies that  84 percent of our our citizens are opposed to IWT being built in Dutton Dunwich.”
Council directed that the resolution be forwarded to Premier Kathleen Wynne, Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli, MPPs, and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).

Kudos to them for trying to stand up to Big Libby, but what will be their course of action when they realize Her Royal Highness and everyone else in her court is ignoring them? The mayor of Picton asked to speak with her directly about the White Pines Turbine Project and she refused to meet with him. I suppose it’s difficult to speak about something in a positive light when you know it is wrong and anti-humanitarian. Can she sleep at night knowing that she is the cause of so much suffering among humans and animals alike? I would have to drink myself silly to get a wink of sleep!

She has no conscience, therefore no shame and no guilt. People need to get organized for the upcoming election now, not later.

    Good luck with that Dutton-Dunwich.
Where as, your ignorance regarding the anti humanitarian component is appalling.
The turbines will be built in your community just like they were in other communities..
I’m sorry your property values will decrease. I’m sorry the wind turbine development will negatively impact your wildlife and environment.
20-25 % of people in the community will become seriously ill. Some will die from heart attack,
stroke, diabetes, cancer because of the negative health impact caused by exposure to infrasound.
I’m sorry to see you didn’t give a rat’s a## about that one. What the hell…..
If people started caring about the health and well being of people and focused on this as the biggest problem with the development of iwts, maybe there would be progress in ending this bloody nightmare.
    Shame, shame, shame.
    I’m sorry for humanity.
But hey, let’s just pretend that doesn’t refer to you, me, or anyone else.

What about a class action suit against Ms. Wynne and her cronies in a most corrupt government?

Everyone in the world that is affected by wind turbines placed too close to their homes, needs to sign a document complaining to our respectful governments. One complaint letter with signatures from people all over the world, sent to every government agency. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Would it do any good? What if the news agencies helped spread it? We must be able to do something!

Parke, News agencies are the reason this continues to go on. The majority of MSM have been hushed regarding the health impacts from the beginning. Imagine if the public knew how bad these environmental heroes were actually treating the people who are in the impact zone. Why, they might actually have to stop building them!

Mz Wynne’s math challenged cabinet are forcing some of the few large industries we have left to shut down some safety equipment such as air exchange systems in order to reduce electricity costs. Thai will eventually show up in our health care costs. When those we elect to protect our interests decide they can trample on those interests how can we make them responsible. Seems to me there is lots of reason for industry to join up with municipalities and ratepayers groups to start a class action suit against these people. That may be the only way to force them to listen to us. Bernie Cusack

Perhaps Eric Gillespie might be the person to ask about a class action suit against the Ontario government and/or its elected officials. He is right in the thick of things when it comes to wind turbine developers and government approval.. It would only take an email or a phone call to his office to see if it is doable and how one would go about getting this process started..

Eric is pretty well tied up with ERTs and doesn’t have the staff to take on everything. Maybe someone like Julian might be able to look at other legal means like judicial inquiry, negligence, regulatory affairs and even misfeasance in office to determine which may apply to the various situations in this affair.

We would not presume to speak for Mr Gillespie’s office; call the office and speak with one of the lawyers, if you have questions.

Companies large and small can be subjected to the “shame-game” the same as individuals can be.

If someone who is in distress already would like to contact Mr. Gillespies law firm to inquire about class actions, I found this contact information:
    http://www.canadianlawlist.com/listingdetail/company/gillespie-eric-k-law-corporation-729768/
There are four or five lawyers listed there including Mr. Gillespie.

Mr Gillespie told those attending our annual general meeting last year that anyone with any questions should call: there is no charge for a consultation.
